Education:
M.S. Biochemistry Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen, Germany 1985
Ph.D. Plant Biochemistry Free University of Berlin, Germany, 1988
Research Interest:
The Molecular Basis of Circadian Rhythms
Current Research Projects:
- Dissecting the regulation of gene expression by the circadian clock in the model organism Chlamydomonas using promoter and mutant analysis.
- Construction of a phototaxis machine for monitoring the circadian rhythm in Chlamydomonas' swimming response to light.
- Knock-down of genes involved in circadian clock photo-entrainment using RNA interference.
